What is the NDIS?
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a national scheme jointly governed and funded by the Australian and participating state and territory governments to support individuals with disability. NDIS identifies people with intellectual, sensory, physical, cognitive and psychosocial disabilities and provides the necessary support and services to live independently. The NDIS participants can access these support services by reaching out to NDIS service providers like Aus Safe Support, using the fund allocated to them under the scheme. The most common support services include
- Assistance with daily personal activities
- Access to community participation
- Travel and transportation assistance
- Life skill development
- Assistance with life stage transition
The support services can differ from person to person, depending on their disabilities. The NDIS provide necessary funding to people with significant and permanent disability to access support services and enjoy life.
